Love Knows No Boundaries
Every once in a while, we hear about a case that extends beyond the boundaries of New York state. While our mission is to help homeless animals here in New York, we were touched by the plight of Charlie and Smokey Bear and had to help. These two puppies were rescued by Tyler Nasise in Bakersfield, California after both had been found badly burned by acid and left tied to a fence.
Both boys had months of treatments and surgeries & rehabilitation… Charlie exhibited aggressive behavior (who could blame him) & had to be removed from the first foster home due. He was then fostered by a wonderful trainer in San Diego that has worked with him for the past couple of months. He has excelled in his training, no longer exhibits aggressive behaviors towards other dogs & now is able to play with others!

- Smokey the Bear
As for Smokey, he is now a healthy & loving stout boy at 80 lbs! Smokey has also found his forever home and will remain with Tyler. He has started obedience training since he has completely healed from his last surgery and will be going for his CGC & he is also registered to start therapy school in October in San Diego to become a certified therapy dog.
