Please note: We are currently focusing our efforts on New York State. At this time we cannot process requests for grants outside of New York.
Please note, however, that we do NOT provide funds to individual rescue groups or individuals. To assure that all funds are going directly to animal welfare and services, we provide payment directly to the service provider in the name of the rescue group or individual – eg, we will provide payment directly to veterinarians, medical boarding facilities, animal transport, pet supply stores and other services to support specific animal rescue efforts.
How does a local shelter or organization apply for financial assistance through Friends of Animal Rescue?
Funding is awarded on a case-by-case basis. General guidelines:
- Payment is made directly to service providers including veterinarians, transport, boarding facilities/kennels, trainers and pet stores, etc.
- We do not make payments directly to rescue organizations.
- Funding cannot be considered on a retroactive basis. Costs must be incurred within 30 days of grant request.
- Organization must be based in New York State.
